This beach is closest to the hotel "Sol Cayo Guillermo" (where we stayed) but is accessible from all the hotels in Cayo Guillermo and Cayo Coco by a bus system that costs 5 pesos per person, per day, for unlimited use during that time. While there, it's worth exploring the rock face with some snorkeling gear. There are crab holes,... More

We've seen beautiful beaches in Cuba, especially Cayo Coco and Pilar Beach definately takes the cake.....so serene soooo beautiful.....an endless stretch of paradise!! The sand was white and sifted through your hands and feet like powder. The water was a beautiful turquoise all the way...as far as I can see....almost looked like you can walk across it!! There are some... More

Our first aim was to spot Flamingos, but while we were there, we decided to continue to Playa Pilar, as Lonely Planet describes it as (one of) the most spectacular beach(es) in the Caribbean. What a disappoint. This is no longer the quiet, far off beach. Beds are for rent and all were taken. The beach is pretty, that's for... More

A lovely unspoiled and uncrowded beach. Wonderful talcum powder soft sand. Nice little cafe and beach chairs rented at a reasonable rate. I did a short hike around the point - nice birdwatching. Watch out for the coral rocks on the point - very sharp. I went back twice. $5 Bus ride from Cayo Coco was a bit long but... More

From the parking lot you access the beach through a wooden slatted walkway. Some of the slats were in need of repair, and some nails needed hammered back down, but no matter... this was part of the charm and adventure. There is a restaurant and washroom facilities. The wooden walkway leads to the beach where you will find cabanas and... More

Took a trip to this beach on April 19th. I have visited close to 20 Carribean Islands and have seen many beaches to compare to. It IS probably the best I have been to in terms of clean water, powder sand, gentle waves, and a slow slope that allows you to go out pretty far before the water reaches your... More

The first day we went to Pilar Beach it was a little overcast (we rented scooters to get there, but there is also a $5 bus from Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo). Because it was over cast the waves were HUGE! We went in about waist deep and most of the waves would go over our heads- super fun. We... More

We were at Pilar Beach for a day tour with our hotel, in Cayo Coco, and we were to go snorkeling off the island located not too far from the beach. The water was too rough so the snorkeling was canceled and we ended up spending the time on Pilar Beach. What a piece of heaven! I was expecting there... More

We took the hop and go bus from Memories Flamenco to Playa Pilar, at a round trip cost of CUC5.50 each. With the stops at various resorts, the trip took about an hour. Playa Pilar is a beautiful stretch of powdery white sand and clear blue water as far as the eye can see. The public beach has plenty of... More

We took a taxi to Pilar from MCG two times; 5 CUC a person return. Rented two chairs in shade 2 CUC each...a true bargain. Go early & relax, feed the fish bread & bananas from buffet, snorkel, fish from the rocks, swim, walk the beautiful beach, watch the ocean, bird from the boardwalk, read, RELAX... what more could you...
