Nacional Armando Bermúdez was a Journey within itself :) and Fortunately I was a passenger.I got a chance to sit back and enjoy the Scenery.When You get to Jarabacoa it is about another 50 minutes to the Park.So just relax.After Monabao,You're almost there. SPECIAL NOTE: About five years ago, there was a huge fire that destroyed most of the forests in the national park that includes Pico Duarte. Even the forests in and around Valle Tetero were burnt out. For this reason, the views were disappointing. I was also disappointed because no one had mentioned this in any Internet update or recent hike... more
