I signed up for this tour with "jeep safari" through the resort I was staying at. The 27 waterfalls is not for the faint of heart, or out of shape person. The main problem I had was that we were not told ahead of time the full extent of what this entailed, and had I known, I may not have... more

Hi, i went to visit DR in February 2008! its very beautiful. We took a tour from a local group in Cabarete, the tour group was awsome. We went to the falls, the guides at the fall were awsome as well! Only thing was no one told us how extreme this sport was! we had 4 guides and they were... more

We decided to do this on our last day in the DR and i am so happy that we did. What people are saying about needing to be in reasonable shape is pretty true, but you get 2 tour guides who could probably carry you there on their backs if needed, so don't think that you need to be a... more

The guides on this waterfall climbing, jumping, sliding adventure are hilariously friendly and helpful. If you speak Spanish, your trip will be even better! Well, except for when the guides ask to marry you... but maybe that's not everyone. I consider myself an athlete and I was challenged, not too challenged, but, I definitely felt like I had worked out... more

Went to the falls last week. When I booked the tour thru my resort, they never never told us we had to be in good physical shape in order to climb and scale the falls. There are some areas when even young people and even men cannot climb with out being hoisted up by the guides, which are terrific by... more

I went to DR last June in 2007 and it was awesome. I'm not much for writing these reviews, but everything that JohnBrz from Baltimore, Maryland stated in his article “A Fun Adventure - But Be In Decent Shape” is right-on. Myself and two others went to the waterfalls - we had rented a car, so we drove ourselves -... more

In November 2007, I went to the Damajagua Cascades on my 50th birthday expecting to splash around in some wimpy waterfall and was quickly disabused of that notion. To get to the falls from the parking lot you have to ford a small river and walk about a mile up a path into the forest. From the first falls it... more

Only 23 km south of Puerto Plata, just outside of the town of Imbert, there is a magnificent set of natural pools and falls called, 27 Charcos (or 27 Waterfalls). This family adventure destination has made many great improvements and is definitely worth the trip. The tour begins with a 20-minute walk through lush forest to the first of 27... more
