The staff here were great and welcoming - they gave us a tour of the museum and then let us shop in their gift shop - the prices were a lot higher than at the jewelery store we were taken to before the museum. More

Found the jewellery very pricey at the Amber \Museum. There used to be a great stand at the Puerto Plata Airport Duty Free before the fire a few years ago. Now its no longer there. Too bad had some great prices and pieces....missed this location. More

A small museum with lots of pieces of amber, which although looks like a clear yellowish rock, is actual hardened pieces of sap from trees that used to exist in the Dominican Republic.
