We were there the week of Sept. 13th. Had gone on a fun resort dive a year before and decided we wanted to get our open water certifications on this trip. We found Scuba Fun at random using google. I am a diver and one of the reasons the wife picked the Bayhibe area was it was close to the diving. I encountered other divers that came an hour and a half from Punta Cana to dive. At the Iberostar Hacienda, you are about 5 minutes from the local diving and a half hour boat ride from the Islands.... more
We have been diving in some of the most beautiful areas and with some terrific dive masters and crew, but ScubaFun is in a league of their own. We had a group of 9, but only 4 of us scuba dive. Prior to going I tried contacting ScubaFun in Bayahibe. I used their web contact page, no response, I tried e-mail, no response, and so I called. Scubafun is now run by John Sack Jr. - an expat American. He and his staff were all excellent on our trip in May 2006. We had done our PADI open water theory and closed water dives in Indianapolis and scheduled our open water dives with Scubafun to complete the certification.
