Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The community tourism concept is an excellent program, I am Jamaican born but lives in the USA for most of my adult life, myself and wife visited Jamaica and wanted to regain some cultural traction. Diana had a guide pick us up in Ocho Rios and took us to Mandeville where we stayed a a small boutique hotel which was very nice and private. Her associate Valerie Dixon met us and took us on a tour of the village called Resource where we learnt about the community and its activities. The annual Marcus Garvey Fail where people attend to enjoy teachings about their national hero, learning how to make Cassava bread - Bammy and more. We wish to recommend this experience to anyone who is seeking to connect with the Jamaican cultural from the inside out.

Local people sharing their real lives, experience and history. Fabulous day, best moment was a visit to the school and local church. One of the best experiences I had while away!

WOW what an experience for my family including our two teenage boys. We loved meeting the school children, the hairdressers, bakery and bar. The bar owner kindly gave us a tour of her house. We had lunch in a local restaurant and even had a dance in the bar next door! My boys will never forget meeting the local community and getting a first hand experience of the Jamaican culture. The people are totally unique, full of fun and fabulous. ASK QUESTIONS about them, they love that and if you don't ask anything then they think you are not interested in them.
This was a new tour from our hotel and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Diana and her volunteers are very friendly and completely dedicated to helping local communities. Their enthusiasm is contagious.
We would recommend this tour to ALL visitors to the beautiful island of Jamaica and PLEASE DONATE when you are there. Nobody asked us for any money at all and we were the only ones in our group who gave a little to each establishment we visited. Also please give Diana or whoever hosts the tour something at the end. It makes such a difference and the money goes directly to the people who need it.
Also, take some drinks from your mini bar, the bar owner can sell them and they don't really cost you anything!
YOU WILL NEVER FORGET THIS EXPERIENCE SO JUST GO FOR IT, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!

Ginny and I felt the need to leave the resort and experience some of Jamaican culture and daily life. After some research we contacted Diana at Countrystyle to set up a couple of day tours. Diana was great in all aspects, customizing the itinerary to our needs and personally driving and taking us around. People know and respect Diana and her knowledge and background made her an ideal guide! We attended a school fundraiser, danced at a community bar, toured decidedly non-touristy Mandeville and had fresh seafood on the beach at Alligator Pond. Having Diana's octagenarian Aunt June accompany us the first day was a real treat! We were made to feel welcome everywhere we went. Diana is committed to promoting this style of tourism and it shows. I would highly recommend Countrystyle Community Tours to anyone wanting a real taste of Jamaica.

Jon and I went to a family wedding in Montego Bay and stayed on to see as much of the non-touristy parts of Jamaica as possible in ten days. Countrystyle put together a fully-escorted tailored program to suit our requirements. Diana was our driver and guide throughout. Highlights were two nights at Taino Cove Hotel, Treasure Beach, pure chill; and Christmas in Mandeville, staying at the Mandeville Hotel right on the Square. We met so many Jamaicans from all walks of life and felt very welcome and safe. I would definitely recommend Countrystyle Community Experience Tourism to individuals and groups wanting to go deeper into Jamaican culture.
