I've been to Pelican Bar twice now, both times on the way from Treasure Beach to Black River. For this journey, it is situated in an ideal spot - you've been riding waves in a fast open motorboat, you've seen some dolphins, but the beer you brought for th river trip is now running out. Enter Floyd, the entrepreneur who... more

My husband and I went to the Pelican Bar in June 2008 using Talk of the Town. We combined the day with YS Falls and was by far one of the best days we had on the island. Sienna w/ TOTT arranged ahead of time for us to have lunch at the Pelican Bar. The fresh fish was caught earlier... more

After reading about The Pelican Bar on TripAdvisor we knew we just had to go there and see if for ourselves. We decided to combine the YS Falls and Pelican Bar trip all in one and went with TOTTT to do it. Our tour guide was Barry and he is absolutely awesome!! He was with us every step of the... more

The pelican bar is just one of these things you do not want to miss! There are several ways to get there, from Black River or Jake's, if you're staying around there. It's worth it. It's about a mile off the coast, you can just have a nice swim, or sit and have a beer. Drinks are not expensive at... more

What can I say?! It was almost spiritual - what an awesome experience! It was so cool to be there - especially on my 40th Birthday!! We've been to the island 4 times (with this being our 4th) we've done pretty much most of the standard stuff and were looking for an adventure - especially for my 40th birthday. We... more

This is a trip that should not be missed! Drive down to Parotee Point and go to the bar down by the beach, its the one owned by Basil, he will take you out there. Be sure to make sure they have beer out there before you head out, its the perfect spot to drink the afternoon away and watch... more

Just returned from our annual trip to Negril, Jamaica which included a day trip to the south coast to visit Floyd at the Pelican Bar. As usual the fish was fresh, the Red Stripes cold & the breezes refreshing. We were amazed that there was little damage except for some thatch blown off the roof from the hurricane earlier this... more

Visiting the Pelican Bar has been one of the greatest traveling experiences of my wife and I. Our visit was the day before Hurricane Dennis was to hit the island. Our fantastic boatman was the famous Dennis Abrahams. He assured us that although the hurricane was going to hit tomorrow we would be safe with him, since the storm was... more

We used the services of Captain Dennis to go to the Pelican Bar. We thought it was such a cool place. The bar looks rickety but it is definitely well built. The area all around it is shallow so we were able to hang out for about 1 hour 1/2. Our 4-year-old son loved it as well. This was one... more

A lovely boat ride out in Mr Nice Guy's boat but a bit expensive at US$30 per head ( i'm thinking a little more negotiation on our part would have saved some money). The bar is impressive in that it doesn't look ilke it would withstand a faint breeze..but there it is! The scenery is beautiful but unfortunately on the... more
