This was our first encounter with a professional tour guide and it was the best thing we could have ever done! I was impressed from my initial discussion with Tamia about our plans to the final farewell at the Airport. Tamia listened attentively and made a perfect plan that provided my entire family with one the best vacations ever. It was stress free and fun for everyone.

Touring with two older teenagers can be challenging, but Tamia understood and was prepared. She packed and restocked a cooler with refreshing local goodies and beverages, provided a cell phone for local contact and understanding how teenagers are without their electronics she had Wi-Fi available for the teens; a very special and unexpected touch.

Tamia’s driver, Robert was an exceedingly cautious and professional. He slowed his speed and sounded his horn before every treacherous corner on the narrow one lane hill side roads. We felt safe in his hands and were able to completely relax without having to worry about any of the typical stress that comes with driving in the mountains and side roads of Jamaica. He effortlessly navigated the steep mountain roads and delivered us safely to the hiking trails, waterfalls and many other places. There were many unique adventures off the beaten path and away from the typical tourist traps, pure unspoiled natural beauty.

Tamia was the best, keeping enough distance so as not to intrude on our family vacation, while remaining close enough to keep any “opportunists” from trying to take advantage of vacationers. We could not have asked for a better or more relaxing vacation. We did so many things and yet it seemed we never tired and always had plenty of relaxation time. From Strawberry Hills, Creighton Coffee Estate in Blue Mountains, Frenchman's Cove, Blue Lagoon, Errol Flynn Marina, Rafting on Rio Grande, Reach Falls, Bob Marley Museum, Usain Bolts sports Bar, Hell Shire Fishing Village were just a few of the fabulous attractions that Tamia was deftly able to squeeze into the week vacation, without us feeling rushed or exhausted. She took care of all bookings and ticket purchases; in short she took all the work out of the vacation making it the most perfect relaxing experience ever. If you’re looking for a worry free way to see the beautiful island of Jamaica, we strongly recommend you contact THIS IS JAMAICA and speak with Tamia. I’m sure we’ll be making that call when planning our next visit to Jamaica.

Awesome, is what we say. From the first moment we spoke to Tamia Harken she connected and met our needs. She listened and built a personal itineray based on what we wanted to experience. I would say exceptional customer service and an amazing time is what she delivered. From the beautiful and cultural countryside of Port Antonio and YS Falls to the historic Port Royal. We spent 3 days with Tamia, she delivered and made our family vacation so memoriable. I highly recommend ThisisJamaica. I am Jamaican and had not been home in 14 years, I was so impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. Cost was not a factor as she delivered 3 times over. Thank you Tamia and we will see you next year.

This is a long Review but I believe it will be worth your time.

To begin with. I have a very adventurous and curious spirit. I began planning my trip to Jamaica by going through all of the tourist attractions they offered. In other words, I was ready to get off the resort from the beginning. Ha.

I wanted to do everything! Blue Mountains, Dunn's River, Mystic Mountain, Blue Hole, Prospect Plantation. I was so exited accept for the fact that I had no idea how I was going to do that all in one day.

Most of the companies did offer "free pick up" and "drop off" if you were to purchase from them and some also offered the ability to combine attractions. However, none offered the famous Blue Mountains in any kind combination. In other words, in order to go to the blue Mountains you would have to pretty much designate an entire day and we only had two full days to spare..

In addition, I was stuck because after reading many reviews I realized that these companies only offered certain times for pick up. Therefore, I would have to work around THEIR schedule. Even still, once you and your loved ones are picked up, you would most likely have to wait an additional hour or more while they picked up other tourist!

I was frustrated because I wanted this trip to Jamaica to be a personal one for my boyfriend and I. Not to sound self serving, but I didn't want to compete for the attention of ANYONE. However even more than this I didn't want to share my time either. Furthermore, I wanted to be the master behind when I was picked up, who I was with, were I was going, and in what order.

After a couple months of research, I had finally resigned to the fact that I would have to take an entire day to travel to the Blue Mountains so I started searching for a tourist company that provided that. With bags under my eyes I stumbled across the "This Is Jamaica." website. The owner offered two overnight Blue Mountain Tours. (yet i discovered they would offer much more)

I took a shot in the dark and explained my situation. I stated that I was interested in attending an "overnight tour." but I wanted to know if the company would be able to pick up my boyfriend and I after I was dropped off from Dunn's River, Mystic Mountain, blue hole ect?

Tamia, the owner, surprised me by saying. " We'd be glad to wait for you! We'd also be glad to pick you up at your hotel and escort you to all of the attractions you'd like to attend, in a private air conditioned vehicle. Afterwards, we can drive you up to the Blue Mountains before night fall Does any of this sounds pleasing to you? If so, I can customize a price for you."

My jaw hit the floor! I knew the minute that I found "This Is Jamaica." that my search was over.

You would not believe everything that I got to do in Jamaica for one incredible price. I knew that after finding this company I was going to embark on a journey to Jamaica unlike any other ( I also secretly laughed at the others that didn't do their research)

Here is our itinerary summary:
1) First we were picked up by "This is Jamaica," at my resort at 7:30 am (My desired time) and then driven to Dunn's Falls. By the way, Tamia, the organizer, had surprised us with goodies when we got in the car! (I won't ruin the surprise) I wanted to get there early so that my boyfriend and I wouldn't have to hold hands up the waterfall with other tourist. I got lots of private pictures at the waterfall with my boyfriend. We were happy that a bunch of strangers weren't in our pictures. (I also Paid for tickets at the gate) The other tourist showed up in their massive groups when we left. lol

2) Soon after, We were taken to the private and exotic "Blue hole," where we were escorted by the owner Tamia herself. Here she fought off locals that would otherwise charge an "entry fee." to get in. Thanks to her we paid the real price to get in which is NOTHING.

3) Next, we explored Mystic Mountain were we saw humming birds, got on a bobsled, and then zip-lined. (I had on-line tickets I printed at home before I left for Jamaica)

4) Then, we went to Prospect Plantation which was an amazing tour. We thought it would be boring but it wasn't! It was one of our highlights. Rode a camel among other things.

5) Before night fall, we were leaning our heads out of the car window to gaze at the Jamaican culture and day to day life as we drove through parts of Kingston for the next 3-4 hours in order to get up into the famous Blue Mountains. All in the comfort of an air conditioned "This is Jamaica." private vehicle.

5) Upon arrival to our rustic cottage which was included in our package we were exhausted. We relaxed, by candle light, to our "included." organic meal (which is made from produce grown right there on the mountain side) while listening to the rain pitter patter on the rooftop.

6) The following morning, we indulged in an all inclusive, Authentic Jamaican breakfast. (Our first the whole trip. Yummy!!!)

7) Then, a breathtaking and scenic hike to see a waterfall and then another amazing hike to a Rastafarian village to speak with natives where we bought hand made authentic Rastafarian jewelry.

8) Next, we explored a private owned Coffee Plantation.where we bought a fresh bag coffee beans from the blue mountains and were educated on it's manufacturing.

9) Thereafter, we were driven to "Serendipity resort" for a 2 hour massage (Paid for Separately by me) All transportation to and from these places was provided by the owner "Tamia." and was included in our price. (We tipped also because the service was impeccable!)

10) Moving on, we went back to our cottage to change and relax. Afterwards, we were taken to "Strawberry Hill." for my birthday dinner which was also included and organized by Tamia.

11) At night fall we had a relaxing and Peaceful evening laying on a hammock gazing at the mountains and stars.

12) The following day, at my special request, the owner woke up at the crack of dawn 4:30 am. Just to drive us to the Kingston airport so we could make an early flight we previously booked on a local jet to get back to Mont ego Bay.

Believe it people! This really happened! I had the time of my life and you can too! If you can imagine it "This is Jamaica." can see it through!

This review is gold for anyone trying to plan a trip. I put a LOT of work and months to get this itinerary done and "This Is Jamaica." made it ten times more than I ever imagined it could be. All you have to do is read this review. Well, and a few other things lol

You will NOT be disappointed. Copy it! Change it! Have fun! Whatever you do just don't be mislead by empty promises from places like Sandals. This is a real vacation! and after you have used this company. You will be able to confidently think to yourself. "This is Jamaica!"

Hope this helps! Safe Travels Everyone. <3 : ) !

I have been to Jamaica several times but Tammy from This is Jamaica provided with the best day I have ever had in Jamaica hands down. She took us into the blue mountains where we visited a private coffee plantation, after which we hiked up into the hills to a Rastafarian village where we got to go into one of their temples and learn about how they live. I highly recommend this company if you really want to discover the beautiful nooks and crannies that Jamaica has to offer and might be a little off the over-commercialized beaten track..Tammy knows her stuff!

We were hosted by This Is Jamaica and Tamia for a recent tour taking in Montego Bay, Kingston and the Blue Mountains in only 5 days. It was a packed schedule and Tamia could not have been a more efficient and professional guide - easily making ad hoc arrangements and changes to the itinerary. Tamia is so lovely, and does whatever she can to make your trip memorable - highly recommended for a glimpse of the real Jamaica 10/10

I found the “This is Jamaica” website purely by accident whilst undergoing research for a Kingston based tour company in Jamaica, W.I. As my family were based in Kingston for our holiday, we were keen to work with a local consultancy as opposed to some outfit on the north coast.

I was able to navigate their site quite easily and was drawn to the many interesting and unique touring experience available. I ended up booking two of their tours, and if time was on my holiday side would have loved to have booked another one.

The first tour we booked was the Mayfield Falls & Rick’s Café tour. This tour leaves Kingston early to whisk you off to the west coast of the island. As with all their tours the private transportation is well equipped, and you have a well versed guide and a fun driver to accompany you. The visit to the Falls is not one I will forget. The rustic and beautiful surroundings, really made my day. The second trip was another west cost tour of the excellent Accompong Maroon Village and Appleton Estate Rum Tour. The former a real education for Jamaicans and tourists alike.

Very many thanks to Tamia, Oona and William for taking the best care of us during our stay. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would be happy to recommend This is Jamaica to those seeking a little more from their holiday experience. I will certainly be looking to book tours with them in the future. For those who wish to reach out to me directly on this, please do so.

This trip was awaited for so long and only one word can describe my experience : EXCELLENCE , both in the organization and in the kindness of accompanying persons. Constant but not heavy presence, dedication to customer flawless, the worries of perfection and well-being of the client is a major point for "this is jamaica".
I recommend "this is jamaica" for all these reasons because thanks to them I lived holiday dreams rich in discoveries!
A feast for the eyes, a blessed food for the mind!
Thank you!
I miss you all !

Someone said : after you visited Jamaica your life will never be the same...I agree !

Talking to This is Jamaica was one of the best ideas in our travel. Me and my boyfriend were traveling around the Caribbean and wanted to be safe and see Kingston in 1 days ( only the must see). They picked us up at the airport and drove us to a very nice hotel they booked for us. Tamina was so nice to us and they organized the dream trip with our preferences. The day after we went to Bob Marley museum, Port Royal and Lime Cay. It was one of the best day in our trip! It was so nice to have a guide and a car only for you. The day after they even manage to drive us to the bus station, we went on with our travel and Tamina told us to send an e-mail if there was anything she could help us with. If you want to be safe and travel with comfort this is the best idea!

Thanks for a good service, I'm sure your business will reach far.

Greeting, Þórhildur from Iceland.

Tammy and Una were great. Very organized and professional. From meeting our group at the airport, getting us to our locally owned small hotel and making sure we were comfortable. Our main purpose for the trip was to participate in the Negril Reggae Marathon, but we had two great tours organized by "This is Jamaica". Appleton Estate Rum tour and Mayfield Falls were excellent! A great company for specialized packages and for visitors who want to experience more than just the sand and sea.
