This beach is a bit tricky to find but worth the effort. Very nice sand and water. Ample shade trees for protection. I would highly recommend a swim at Buye if you are in the Cabo Rojo area. More

Been here a couple times. The colored houses are so pretty & the beach is very nice. More

Cool atmosphere with the locals around. Little store has juicy empenadillas and cold beer. Love the fact that this was a gorgeous beach but there was a crazy burned out looking concrete building right on the beach surrounded by a rusty hurricane fence. Locals music was a little loud at times but that's sort of what makes the place cool.... More

This beach was amazing. I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews. There was some trash, but it was set back away from the beach, and you had to walk a bit to see it. In the main beach area that people were laying out, there was no trash. No loud music, no screaming kids, just peaceful. There were families,... More

Several years ago I had the great fortune of a friend who owned one of the few homes right on Buye Beach... it truly is stellar... just a few hundred yards offshare is excellent snorkeling... and as others have said, the small bay is calm, amazingly warm... but the beaches are tragically trash-strewn (in a disgusting way... lots of diapers,... Picture this: crystal clear, warm, shallow water that is as calm as glass and beaches with lovely shelling. What a paradise this is! Now turn around behind you. All you can see is trash every few feet. How hard is it to walk 5-50 yards and throw away your pickin' trash?! If you are too lazy or careless to walk... More

I visited Buye Beach for the first time this weekend and enjoyed two wonderful sun drenched days at a warm calm clean beach. The beach has shaded areas under beautiful almond trees or areas directly in the sun...whatever is your pleasure. We parked for free right on the side of the road and for lunch ate authentic Puerto Rican appetizers... More

I've been going to Cabo Rojo for years to visit my mother. Buye used to be a beautiful, unspoiled beach- I remember it so as a child. And it is still beautiful, as long as you stand at the water's edge and look out across the ocean. Note that the pics that people post are always of the water and... More

Buye Beach is off the main roads;set back from the "real world". The quality of the water and the sand is comparable with any beach you could want to compare. The water temperature is almost like it is controlled by a thermostat. There are few ammenties save for a shower, rest rooms and a small gift shop and restaurant ( with... More
