We had a "local" on the flight to Puerto Rico talk my traveling companion into visiting this attraction. We took the ferry which is 50 cents one way. The taxi ride from the pier to the Bacardi plant is $3.00 per person. The free tour is of a very small museum, not the actual factory, some of the history was... more

Not an actual tour of the factory showing how rum is made, but a history of the Bacardi family and their rum making enterprises. You get two tickets for drinks at the end which were good. Two minor gripes: the opening video was just a little risque and it rained the day we went and the tram that took you... more

The Bacardi Rum Tour was not what I thought it would be. It's not an actual tour of the factory, but as others have stated, it's closer to a museum tour. Gives the history of how Bacardi began, how the rum is made, and samples of mixed rum drinks at a bar/pavillion at the end of the tour. I probably... more

The tour does get a little boring but there were some interesting points. I liked the bar demonstration and you can smell all the different bacardi liquors in the barrels. I'm not sure what many refer to about taking the ferry. We stayed at the Marriott in Condando and they had pre-printed directions that did not include any ferry. We... more

I have been on multiple brewery tours, but unfortunately this wasn't quite as good. You don't get to see any of the actual work being performed. You get a history of the brand, see some videos, smell some barrels, and get 2 free drinks. If you have some time to kill, it is probably worth your while. Otherwise it isn't... more

If you are interested in the history of Bicardi and/or just want two free drinks, then head on over. However if you actually are hoping to see the factory and watch the rum being made or bottled forget it. On this tour you get no where near the factory. You are taken to what is more or less a museum,... more

We went on this tour in June, 2008. We took take the ferry across from Old San Juan, which took a little more time than we'd expected but was a really good deal, and then went in vans from there. Everyone seemed to know what vans to go in, but they really weren't marked. The drivers were just asking if... more

I regret not taking the advice of some reviewers who said this was a below par experience not worth investing 3-4 hours ( unless of course two free drinks make it worth your time ). Disappointment no 1: Not even a glimpse of the actual distillery. You only get to see some barrels, an old still and a museum of... more

I agree with some other reviews, the tour was a dissapointment. I thought we would get to see the factory and the rum actually being made but all we got to see was a museum with some exhibits. But, I drank my first Mojito there and loved it. You only got tickets for one free drink but I talked them... more

Free tour with interesting facts. Not at all boring and completely interactive. We went along with the the spanish tour which seemingly had less people, it was a Great experience especially for a Bacardi Lover. The tour is really free, plus you get two free drinks from the Bacardi Bar, on the contrary to what a previous post stated. You... more
