The Big Tree Trail is an easy hike that leads you to the beautiful La Mina Falls. It is probably one of the most popular trails in the forest. We followed everyone's advice and got to the rain forest first thing in the morning. I'm glad we did because by the time we left around 11:am the area was crawling... more

the walk itself is peaceful and full of things to see, giant trees, giant snails, curly fronds from palms, geckos and signage to educate you on what you are seeing/hearing. its a paved or stone path and can be slippery but its manageable. i wore chacos and they worked fine. a few folks i met recommended the water shoes. dont... more
