Red Beach (Caracas) had the softest and finest sand of the Vieques beaches and it extended well into the water. If you are looking for a place to set up a chair and enjoy the day, Red Beach is a great place especially since swimming and beach walks are so easy. There are plenty of picnic tables and covered areas....

Enjoyed this beach because of the little picnic table shelters available. There are reefs for snorkeling at either end of the beach and we enjoyed that very much.

Gorgeous white sand and turquoise waters. Gazebos and palm trees will give you shade. Snorkel on the point to the left. Very nice. The most popular Refuge beach.

The bay was nice for swimming and snorkeling although hte coral was confined to the leftmost point. There were some magnificent fish to see.

One of the busier beaches, but still, busy by Vieques's standards (at least as of January 2012) means maybe 20-30 people on the whole beach. There were also some cool rock and coral formations surrounding the beach and it had probably the clearest water I've ever seen.

I have been to this beach less times than other beaches, not for any particular reason. This is a nice quite beach, should go early in the day to find a nice spot and set up shop half way under a tree.

This is a nice average beach, very frequented and noisy. It is less crowded during the weekdays.
