With over 7 blinding white sand beaches to choose from, and gin clear water the National Wildlife Refuge offers the beach goer everything they want, bring lots of sun block and your snorkel gear. Keep in mind this is a Wildlife Refuge, the beaches are essentially wild, with only a few kiosks and nothing else. Keep in mind that this... More

Nature is great here minus the signs of "OFF LIMITS" due to the U.S NAVY 60 year history of bombing part of the island and average of 160 days a year which is why most of the island is left with unexploded ordinance and other things that are not good for anyone to get near . Sadly there seems not... More

While the area is beautiful, all other travelers that we observed were headed to their only attraction, the beach. What they missed was such marvel of nature it's self. The vegetation was beautiful and the smallest of creatures that we saw were a marvel unto themselves, land crabs. There were 100s in such a short distance that others never saw.... More

We only spent a short amount of time here because we were losing daylight hours, but we did manage to drive all the way to the west end where we saw the gray mountains of Puerto Rico in the hazy distance. If the weather wasn't threatening, we might have actually stayed to watch the sunset. On the way to the... More

There are 4 great beaches - 3 which are remote and has very few people at them. Caracas Beach is the most publilc beach with picnic areas and buildings. Playa Plata is the most remote but Playa Prieta is the most beautiful. More

We traveled a long way to get to this and the road was difficult to navigate with so many potholes. We enjoyed the beaches on the southeastern side of the island much more. More

We have spent hours exploring the numerous beaches; we also love watching the wild horses and all the other flora/fauna to be seen! More

We saw NOTHING there other than a couple birds and horses (all over the island). The speed bumps were unnecessary and annoying. If you have some time to burn in Vieques and nothing left to do, then it might be worth the few hours just to ee it. More
