For once we didn't do our homework prior to visiting a new place. If it hadn't been for a taxi driver, we would have missed this fun stop. We too enjoy off the beaten path, and didn't realize how famous this place was when we stopped there. It's a very short drive through what looks like omg, where are we... more

There's no formal tour of this place; it's laid back like much of the islands. But we thought it was a pretty cool stop. There's notices inside that say something like--no pictures allowed until you buy some rum or pay $2. I don't know if sarcastic, but we wanted to buy some rum anyway. It's really cheap--$5 for the small... more

One day was walking around Cane Garden Bay we wandered down a dirt road following the signs to Callwood Distillery. We basically got a 5 minute speech on the art of distilling rum and then asked if we wanted to make a purchase. There was no tour. Not really worth the time in our opinion. more

We have visited here twice and it is great. The rum is unlike anything you have ever tried. Sample the "spiced". Want your friends to keep their hands off your rum - show them a picture of the still where it was produced. It is very ancient and a step back in time. I think the sign for the distillery... more

Great place. Very non-touristy considering it's fame. I felt like I had gone back in time as the rum-master poured me a shot of very tasty aged barrel rum as I watched the fresh brew he was cooking up run through the ancient sluice stone. This place looks like a ruin and it has been brewing for the past 400... more

I wished you could add a photo and tell more about the story, which is in the family for over 200 years and is a most impressive peace of history of the BVI. Rum is made there just like 200 years ago. A tour cost only U$1.00 and includes a shot of their rum called CANE JUIcE. DON'T MISS IT!... more
