I stumbled across this beach by accident while walking past the end of Cockleshell Beach to see what was there. This is a very beautiful small beach, with terrific water, sand and views of Nevis. My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay at the Banana Bay Beach Hotel ten years before it was destroyed by a 1998 hurricane. Both Banana Bay and Cockleshell Bay were, and probably still are, great beaches with glorious views of Nevis off across a channel. Banana Bay is the site of one of the islands lost resorts. The Banana Beach Hotel was destroyed by Hurricane Georges back in 1998.The remnants of the buildings are still there, lying in ruins. Goats and cows are now the resorts only full-time residents. The beach is just as perfect as ever though. The water is very calm and perfect... more

I totally loved Banana beach and left turtle beach to come here! It's absolutely clean and beautiful. When we came there was no one there and we had the beach to ourselves. There was a stand where you can buy drinks and snacks. She had an outdoor shack with a curtain for people to change in. It was so beautiful.... more
