We're just back from this wonderful little island. And the first thing we did there was hiking mount Nevis with guide Jim Johnson. Don't try this without a guide. It's a tough hike but well worth making the trip to the summit. Hired a guide through Sunrise Tours, he was on time and very friendly. After the hike he took us to some local hangouts to sample real local cuisine and drink and went above and beyond. more

The hike to the rim of the volcano is rough, but worth it. The rainforest is amazing, and we even saw green monkeys (although they started dropping mangos on us!) Truly an amazing experience, and worth the work. more

My husband and I had a great and very muddy hike on Nevis Peak. It was foggy when we got to the top, but we didn't even care. Our guide furnished local fruits and berries as snacks.
