Visited our very own God given natural resource as history recorded it know as BLACK GOLD. The lake is truly amazing, the history of it and the fact of its actual existence without human s having any control of its development and its existence. Hats of to scientist and historians for there scientific and historic explanations of its anatomy and... More

If you're into Nat Geo and science type of stuff this is a definite visit! Our tour guide Aminah was knowledgeable and really made the place come alive. If you aren't into nature and science, then you might not be able to appreciate this place. More

The trip to the pitch lake was a worthwhile experience. The guide was very helpful and was willing to share his wealth of knowledge about the pitch lake. He told stories of the lake growth and development from the time of Christopher Columbus to the present. You might be a bit disappointed when you first see the lake but don't... More

There are 3 pitch lakes in the world. This is one that you can walk on. The official guide is worth the $US 12 for 2 adults, 2 children (and cheaper than the un-official guides) just to know where you should be going. On a sunny day you can feel yourself sinking very slowly into the pitch. Some people bath/swim... More

My partner and i visited the pitch lake last year and found it to be an amazing experience. We definitely recommend people to visit the pitch lake and hear all the wonderful stories behind it. However when we arrived at the Pitch lake we were approached by some men who were tour guides and one of them accompanied us, when... More

In less than an hour we were able to experience this splendid wonder. We were limited for time ourselves, however our friendly and professional tour guide - Mr Charles - gave us a detailed history and educational view point on the Pitch. Our visit followed heavy rainfall - and we had a great time skipping over the fault lines in... More

When you arrive at the turning into the road where the visiteres centre is. BE VERY AWARE OF SCAMMING FAKE GUIDES. If your in a vehicle, they will bang on your window and try and convince you to go the the lake with them. They will charge you nearly $100tt to drive your car down onto the lake, if your... More
