When you imagine a tropical island beach - Tobago's Pigeon Point is what you imagine - exactly. True there is an entrance fee - but it is $3. You can walk up the beach for free, but the drive into the beach area (1 minute) is gorgeous with blooming bougainvillea bushes, flowers everywhere and palms blowing in the wind. It... more

I went to Tobago in April for Easter with my husband and 2 children aged 12 and 7, not for the first time for the third and what a wonderful place it is - Pigeon Point has changed over the years, but the scenery has not - there are not armed guards walking around the beach - just the presence... more

I have just read your review on Pigeon point and felt that it needed an update. Pigeon Point has indeed changed managment but today is a peaceful laid back beach area with a bar restaurant and changing facilities. What ever may or maynot have happened in the past, It is very misleading to think that there are armed guards ready... more

Pigeon point is definatly one of the nicest beaches on the island and is now under government control. You do sill have to pay and entrance fee although ask a local and he'll tell you that if you walk up the beach (like I did) you don't pay!The beach is free. The wrist band entitles you to the toilettes and... more

Pigeon Point is the only white sand beach on Tobago. Almost all pictures you see in brochures or tourist guides use some from Pigeon Point, no matter which part of the island they feature. Pigeon Point is definitely a beautiful beach. But to be honest: I would have expected much more. I had no problem with paying 18 TT$ entrance... more

The only way to describe this part of Tobago is Paradise, of the twelve islands we visited over the xmas/new year period, this was our favorite one. We are going back there early 2006, if it wasnt for the fact that we are committed to other things this year, I would be there now. more

What I would like to say is that you pay a few dollars to enter Pigeon Point, that is mainly to keep the grounds clean and the sand raked, it also keeps away the unwanted.. I would think that the Canadian person who made this statement is a cheap skate, go to other nice places in the world, you can't... more

Just returned from Tobago and made sure I visited Pigeon Point. The views from the beach are my exact image of a caribbean beach.Crystal clear water, white sand and palm trees leaning out into the gentle tide. Yes you do have to pay a small fee to enter, but this keeps out beach vendors and provides extra secuirty. Food and drink available... more

Although it is patrolled by armed guards and you do have to pay £1.80 to enter the beach and the facilities, it is worth it for the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful beaches with shallow, clear water. I applaud the guards who keep the beach sellers and trip organisers away, unlike our hotel where I would have to waste at least... more

Please don't visit Pigeon Point. It is an appalling situation. A private company (Ansa McAl) bought the land but the government is currently negotiating to buy it back. Do you want to visit a beach (no matter how nice!) where you have to pay entry, wear a wristband, have armed guards patrolling (and they have shot locals who they considered... more
