We were two couples and we spent one day out at the Sandy Point and just loved it. Kept waiting for Morgan Freeman to walk on by. We were there in January when the water kicked up a bit and we bodysurfed out at the far point, in turquoise Caribbean warm water. Perfect... More

We got hooked in with a group of NPS scientists to do a night viewing of leatherback turtle nesting. Don't know how Joe Public can do this, but it was a high point of our three week multi-island trip. Saw them relocate eggs, got to touch the turtle. World class. And the beach is nice. More

Worth going, just be prepared for full sun. It's a gorgeous spot, amazing sand and water, and lots of beach to walk on. Go explore. More

The waters are a bit more turbulent, but perfect for body surfing. No snorkeling around here. Certain times of the year the beach is taken over by... More

Other than the fact you have to vacate the beach by 4pm, it's only open on weekends and it will close next weekend because of the nesting turtle habitat, it is a... More

I cannot believe that this is the first review of Sandy Point. It is a magnificent stretch of beach at the Southwestern tip os St. Croix. It is a U.S. nature preserve and is a breeding ground for turtles. So the beach is only open from November to April and only on weekends. There are no bathrooms or concession stands... More
