I reserved a sail with Big Beard, but unfortunately, they called the night before and canceled. i called Miles at Caribbean Sea Adventures early the next morning and he answered the phone himself and told me to come on down and have some fun. We had a really great time. I probably would have preferred to sail, but you go... more

During my 6 month stay on St. Croix, I traveled to Buck Island 6 or 7 times on the all day tour. I always used Capt. JP with "Caribbean Sea Adventures." I took everyone that visited me, and they all agreed. C.S.A.is the only way to go. JP takes you on a catamaran, not a loud power boat. You get... more

We spend a beautiful day sailing with Big Beards to Buck Island. We had great service and it was one of our favotite memories of the whole tour. We started try out our lended gear in shallow waters, where there were some small, but colorfull fish. Then we were taken for a guided tour in the reef and it was... more

The island itself, with the snorkeling and the beach, is a five-star attraction, without a doubt, an absolute must if you're visiting St. Croix. I've snorkeled Maui, Oahu, and four Caribbean islands, and Buck Island is at the top of my list, easily. If you enjoy snorkeling at all, go there. The question is whom you hire to take you.... more

Buck Island offers two attractions in my mind. First, you can go to Turtle Beach, which many tour operators hit upon reaching Buck Island. This beach does not get much ink in Caribbean tour books, perhaps because of focus on the reef/snorkeling. However, the pictures do not lie. It is likely one of the best beaches on U.S. soil. Do... more

We just came back from Captain Heinz's trip to Buck Island. It was great, and we would highly recommend it. It took about an hour to get to the island -- not rough at all. People snorkeled for about an hour with Melanie (I didn't snorkel, and instead talked with Heinz). Then he took us right up to the beach,... more

Definitely do not miss Buck Island! If you do nothing else in St. Croix, get out there!! We sailed on a Wednesday morning (6/17) from Green Cay Marina (just outside of Christiansted) to Buck Island for the full day (9-2) tour with Capt Heinz on the Teroro II and had a great time. The only time the motor on the... more

On the recommendation of our resort owner, my partner and I took the Big Beard's half-day excursion to Buck Island on June 11, 2009. Our excursion was aboard Big Beard's hybrid power "Adventure" boat with Captain Austin, 1st Mate Darby, and another crew member, Brad. We were met at the dock both leaving and returning by Big Beard (Captain John... more

My partner and I booked the Big Beard all day trip to Buck Island. We booked on the 23rd of April. We got to the dock at 0900 and were suppose to sail at 0930. We didn't sail until 0950. When we sailed we were prepared to go to Buck Island and were very excited to see it and the... more
