I spent about 3 hours in the market and it was more than enough. It really is the same stuff in 50 different named places. A lot of cheap souvenirs that will be thrown away the following month. Do not get tricked into buying cigars as they are not real and are stale. Something to experience once on a nice... More

Nothing of quality at the Straw Market. The hat I bought was imported from China. Was ready to bargain for a bunch of souvenirs but things were so poorly made, I didn't even try. Disappointing. More

Apparently, the straw market has been moved and reestablished in a new area (according to a gentleman on our cruise). It resembles an open flea market, with relatively new "booths," which are packed high with items for sell. The vendors beckon you to come to their slot to buy from them, but a lot of what I saw were the... More

We went to the straw market expecting to find some good bargains on unique crafts. Not the case. They have similar items and the prices are higher than other markets. They have carved fish/animals, straw items, jewelry and T shirts. If you want one of these items, go for it. More

The straw market was good, but all the vendors seemed to have the same items, no real deals to be made, but was too busy to talk to anyone really More

What a waste of time. Overpriced crap, locals begging you to buy something, hustlers trying to sell you overpriced junk. I felt like I was being attacked by hobos. Never again. More

FOUR WORDS.............SAME CRAP, DIFFERENT VENDOR. You have to see the straw market in Nassau because it is a place that everyone has to experience once. I do like the old building better because it gave it more of a Caribbean Flea Market feeling. More

Loads and loads of handicrafts, carved wood, clothes, and just about anything you may or may not want to buy. Prices vary greatly by vendor don't be afraid to bargain (it's expected) and walk away if you don't get your price. Can be very crowed when the cruise ships first arrive. It's better to visit a few hours before it... More

Lame. Hot. Woodworking of animals and vehicles was nice ,but if you have younger kids be aware that there is drug paraphernalia and porn items made of wood in the various stalls. Multiple stalls sold all the same items. Same hats, same baskets, same jewelry, same tshirts. Obviously made elsewhere and not locally. In fact the wooden lizard toys were... More
