My husband and I were at the zoo on Feb 11th and really enjoyed it. It is a small zoo with a lot of animal/person interaction. Feeding the Flory parrots apples out of our hands was really fun. but the grown-ups though it was kind of lame. Basically a small city zoo, with an odd assortment of animals from around the world. IMHO, it would be better if they focused on Bahamian wildlife. The grounds are beautiful, as are the many tropical birds. The flamingo show is very hokey, but the kids liked it. more

We also walked to the zoo from the Fish Fry.. the zoo is nothing spectacular.. the Flamingo show was not bad, I participated in the the line-up when they called people from the audience, which was fun! it's something different which we had never seen before.. I have three children ages 3, 6 and 9. They all love visiting Ardastra Gardens. It is a nice way to get some relief from the sun and let the kids run around. Be sure to see the Marching Flamingos they only perform twice a day so check the schedule. more
