I was there the week of Thanksgiving 2009. We rented a car. "They drive on the left". Take Grand Bahama Hwy East until you reach Fortune Bay Drive. Take a right. Head South to E Sunrise Hwy. Take a Left on E. Sunrise. Go back towards Grand Bahama Hwy. You will cross a bridge (Casaurina Bridge) on the way back... more

This beach was beautiful. It has a sand bar about 50 yards out which at low tide you can walk up and down forever. There are a few trees that are dead but those are from back in 2004 when they had two hurricanes. Beach had the finest sand and some very clear water. Plus the walk to the beach... more

First of all, I would consider myself a beach expert. I have been to many of the top beaches throughout the world and this is the best! Very unique. Huge tide variance which make the beach so wide. Amazing swimming, no development, secluded and a place I can't wait to return to one day! If you go to GBI, you... more

Our wonderful tour guide from our Jeep excursion brought us to Gold Rock Beach, easily one of the most breathtaking beaches I have seen in my travels. He explained that the rock formation in the water we could see from the shore looks golden in the rising and setting sun, after which the beach was named. The water was crystal... more

Was sailing on Carnival's Sensation June 28-July 2nd. Was looking for a nice beach to go to on our own, since most of the cruise excusrsions were expensive. I had reserved a car with Avis, as they reported that they had a rental car station at the port where the cruises drop off in Freeport. Learned very quickly, that Avis... more

Gold beach is beautiful, and a bit odd with all of the dead trees. Low tide is the best time. Not good for snorkling, because you have to swim quite a way to see anything. Very nice & new boardwalk to get to beach. You walk over an estuary and can see fish and birds. Coordinate with the short visit... more

This beach in a part of Lucayan National Park. It's a short easy hike from the parking lot, which also has 2 underground caves as a part of this Lucayan National Park. The short hike across the mangrove, walking on the board walk. Once we got to the beach, what we saw in front of us is just breathtaking! Nice... more

What can I say, the photos speak for themselves. I took full advantage of this gorgeous beach at low tide. We were on a guided tour from East End Adventures so our time was limited. Our next visit to the island will warrant a rental care. If you like crowed, dirty beaches... this is not the place for you. Hats... more

We have been to this beach for the last 7 or 8 years. It does cost $3 a person but well worth the price and you won't be sorry. It can be hard to find the entrance as many have missed it but it is there. As far as you can see you have the most breathtaking beach and you... more

If you love beaches, you have to go to Gold Rock Beach at the Lucayan National Park. From Freeport/Lucaya, take the main highway toward the west end (it will take about 20-30 min by car, 45 by moped). The national park has a small parking lot. On the north side of the street there are some caves to explore, on... more
