Appears small from the outside but with the aid of audio recorders which set the scene in each part of the castle, our visit lasted about 1.5 hours! More

We went to Orford for lunch (Orford Oysters - first class). Its really interesting. There is a fee to get into the castle, but the audio guide is included and very informative. Great views from the top of the castle too. More

castle is nice and worth seeing but overpriced. Jolly Sailor pub nearby is great for lunch. Dont forget the hidden smokery on the back of the oyster house (not Pinneys) its a little gem. More

An interesting keep that Henry II had built, there are great nooks and crannies to explore. A nice display of Roman and Medieval artifacts, make sure you use the audio guide so you don’t miss anything. The views from the top of the castle is great. There is an interesting folklore story about the Wild Man of Orford that the... More

Really enjoyed my visit to this castle. Having done quiet a bit of sightseeing through the UK now, I really enjoyed that this was a smaller castle than most, and I didn't lose half a day wandering through it. It has a little bit of history and interesting things to learn (but not too much), fantastic views of the nearby... More
