We went with the assistance of tour guide Jupiter Rivera of Admire Tours (highly recommended). This is a difficult hike due to it's elevation of 4365 meters (14,320 feet), the trails starts at 3200 meters. Pace yourself and take many breaks.

This used to be an active volcano but now during the months of December it's really cold and it even gets some snow on the mountain it is great place for hicking and watching nature. It is about a four hour drive from Manzanillo.

The snow capped volcano is dormant. It is pretty, but not worth the 2 hour trip from Manzanillo.
