We took the water taxi over to Isla de la Piedra for 20 pesos each. The long walk along the beach was wonderful once we passed the beachfront restaurants because we were not bothered by the vendors any more. I would say it was an average 'beach' experience and the restaurant we ate breakfast at was okay...nothing stunning experienced during... more

Misrepresented on price of tickets any where from 15 dollars [us] to 75 dollars [us] Gave a sad story about the Captains child in the hospital with heart problems people including us bought it and were scammed out of 20 dollars[us] . There was never a sick child nor the t-shirt for the raffle we won. After crossing the bay... more

After 3 days on a ship, having a day on the shores of Paradise was wonderful. The warm ocean waters, horseback riding, good authentic food, surfing the waves and a great boat ride to and from the beach. Loved the open bar all day. Loved the beach and the scenery. Best day of the cruise. more

I had orignally planned to go to Stone Island after reading reviews here. When we got off the ship I almost got talked into time share tour. When I was almost talked into it, I decided to stick to my plan. Thank God. Though the route there was less than favorable, our final destination paid off. We got there early... more

That's right, typically in areas with marginal sanitation you just put the toilet paper in a waste basket along the side of the toilet. I think pooping in the ocean would be my choice there, as an alternative, mostly because no one would notice a little more cr-p in the water. I found the poor neighborhoods along our route and... more

Our cruise ship stopped in Mazatlan on a Wednesday and we decided to go it on our own to Stone Island. Getting out of the ship terminal is miserable (running the gauntlet of time share hawkers). We decided to walk to the water taxi stand. Its and easy and short walk, but we were the only ones doing it, so... more

Our group visited Stone Island during a cruise stop a few months ago. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed laid back atmosphere. The beach was not crowded and the array of thatched roofed bars and restaurants were more than accommodating to our needs. There was plenty to do, from snorkeling to horseback riding and ATV rentals, and the long, flat beach... more

We recently returned from a Mexican Riviera cruise with a stop at Mazatlan. Having previously researched shore excursions, I decided to book privately the Stone Island Tour with King David Co. Their prices being less than half of those booked through the cruise line, this tour was well worth the $30pp. Hugo, our tour guide, was waiting for us just... more

Mazatlan was the second stop on our recent cruise. There weren’t many shore excursions we were interested in so we decided to go to Stone Island for the day. Based on research we had done, we decided to do it on our own instead of paying for a tour company to take us. We walked a couple of blocks from... more

Personally, I didn't think the tour was worth the money, but my wife does not agree. The boat ride to the cave, bird poop island, and sea lions was enjoyable and humorous. The island/activities lacked structure and excitement, but was OK. The water was to murky to snorkel (Mar18-25). The horse ride is short and relaxed so even if you... more
