June 2007 My teenage son and daughter and I took the Stone Island Jungle tour and loved every minute of the experience. We'd go back in a flash just to eat the fish we had for lunch. If we remember correctly, the fish was smoked/roasted over a bed of papaya (mango?) leaves and coconut husks while we took the "island... more

Me and my family go to stone island every year. It so beautiful with all the flowers and its beach that streches on forever, the relaxed atmosphere and even the people make visiting stone island an unforgetable, get-away experience. there are lots of activities to do. my favorite is horse back riding on one of loco daniels horses. there are... more

My wife and I just returned from a week's getaway to Mazatland. Prior to going I had read several postings from other travelers about spending time on Stone Island. The information was very helpful and paved the way for us to make the journey on our own rather than taking one of the ubiquitous tours that are offered. From our... more

We were in Mexico Of January 2006 my husband and 15 year old son. We went on this tour and had a blast, at the island we went quading for two hours, then kayaking. And the lunch was superb. I love beans and rice. And when we went quadding we left our camera, and other such personal items, as the... more

This was the worst tour that we've ever experienced. I booked through online but they sub-contracted me out to Playa Sur. Myself, hubby, mom, and 3 kids were excited to go but instead of a air conditioned bus that others were picked up with if you went with King David Tours, were were picked up (and very late I might... more

Stone Island is a fun diversion, but be very careful when renting 4-Wheelers. We are two couples in our early 50's, who visited Stone Island in February of 2007. The machines were great, the scenery and experience were excellent, but the whole experience was ruined by a final "rip-off". The problem is, that you have to give the vendor your... more

To be honest, my day with least expecatations on our recent Mexico cruise, was our port day in Mazatlan. We decided to not book or schedule anything, and just spend the day at the beach. Other info on this site lead me to look into Stone Island, and even consider paying $35 per person for a tour that included a... more

OK so Stone Island isn't really an island--it's a penninsula. However, we were told that the road to it is very rough. You could pay a lot of money and take a tour to it, but it is so easy to get there on your own. The Sabalo Centro but (4 pesos no air, 8 pesos air condition) drops you... more

We took the trip to Stone Island by King James(?) Tours, and had a blast. For $35 US, you gat pickup at your hotel, a scenic catamaran ride to the island, a delicious lunch, open bar all day, and your choice of 2 activities-you're on the island for abour 4 hours before returning. The activities to choose from are snorkeling,... more
