Be sure to go before it gets hot and bring not only water but a sports beverage. Wear shoes/sandals with good treads and long pants. I got bit by something. Great view but not worth the effort. We went up around 8:30 a.m. on March 1. There is a dirt path (watch for rocks and wash outs) and then 300 plus steps. It is well worth the trip up for the views of the city and the ocean. Make sure you bring binoculars so you can see the small black rock in the ocean that the sea... more

The hike up was a bit strenuous, definately not something to plan for the afternoon heat.
