Galeria Mata Ortiz might be very small in size, but it is sure big in what it has to offer - some of the best Mata Ortiz pottery I have seen anywhere in Vallarta. I agree with the comments previously posted. The Mata Ortiz pottery is uniquely beautiful ... generally simple and yet exquisite designs: crafted entirely by hand without a potter's wheel! Claudia is a lovely person and her husband Alejandro is a great birding guide ... we took 2 birding tours with Alex in 2005 and will be back with him next... more
Puerto Vallarta can be full of tourist-y junk so it was great to find Claudia and Alex Martinez's Mata Ortiz Art Gallery (pottery and jewelry) at 268A Lazaro Cardenas in the Zona Romantico.
