I was just there last week 4/2/08. I book this trip with the cruise ship even though you can go online and book it directly with Vallarta Vacation. Anyway, I did some research before I went and I thought this would be a lot of fun. It is very nice there but to me not even close to being worth... more

Las Caletas is promoted as a day on a private beach formerly owned by John Huston, director of Night of the Iguana, which was filmed nearby. There are several departures throughout the day. Ours left at 11:30 from the Marina, where you'll predictably find a large flea market with vendors hawking goods to cruise ship passengers. Give yourselves 1/2 hour... more

Las Caletas is a private beach owned by Vallarta Adventures, a tour operator based in PV. This day trip starts with an hour and a half long catamaran tour along the coast south of Puerto Vallarta. Once we arrived at Las Caletas, we were served a wonderful buffet lunch. The setting is gorgeous - the tables are scattered throughout the... more

I visited Las Calentas last week while on vacation in Puerto Neuvo. I enjoyed the ride over on the boat...experiencing wild dolphins, numerous birds and wonderful views back to the Puerto Vallarta shore. While many note in their reviews on Trip Advisor that the "activities" are too structured...one must realize when taking over a group of 80 to 100 people... more

My wife & I just returned from nine days in PV and were a bit hesitant about committing to two tours in the same place (Las Caletas & Rhythms of the Night) given some of the reviews so we decided to book Las Caletas online and if it went well, we would book Rhythms while in PV for our last... more

I have been to Caletas twice now. First time was in Oct 2005. I loved it then. It was beautiful, food was fantastic and the staff very friendly. Second time was August 22, 2007. I did a two tank dive. I remember the tiny jellyfish stings the first time and was alittle bothered but nothing too crazy. However, this time... more

Didn't really enjoy this excursion. The boat ride over was an enjoyable cruise, however the staff felt the need to entertain us. The music was loud and they were funny. It was fine for the ride over but became too much on the return. The snorkeling wasn't great. There was something stinging us in the water. The sea lion was... more

I went to Las Caletas at the beginning of January with my girlfriend (now fiancee) during the day. The boat ride over was great. Boating past Las Arcos was really neat and we saw a whale and a giant sea turtle. We were just looking for a place to relax. On the boat ride over, the crew is fantastic-getting people... more

Yes the beach is nice, the food is nice, the snorking is ok, but the big problem with this operation is the the boat ride that could be nice, but instead have a bunch of young guys yelling stupid jokes into a microphone and playing very loud music. Also, at the beach they keep barking instructiuons at you the whole... more
