I spent a few nights on the island, ate the best fish cooked over an open fire.Swam in the clear water, snorkled and speared the fish that we ate.It was a very pleasant experience. We slept in sleeping bags on the sand.We covered our heads because the birds were out in numbers early in the morning. It was exciting. It... more

Spent a month on Isla Isabel 5 years ago. Living conditions were very rustic (sleeping bags on concrete floors) but the wildlife was very interesting, including many seabirds, some small coral reefs, humpback whales breaching offshore in season. Package tours aren't available so far as I know, and this is definitely for the best given the island's fragile ecology, but... more
