The fishing charters return in the afternoon, to sell their catch to the seaside restaurants. For 100 pesos (Under $10 US) the fresh food is incredible. I highly recomend eating there. Zihuatinejo is a great jumping off point for several beaches in the area. Cheap busses and taxis take you up the coast to check out various regions. Ixtapa is... more

I travel to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo every year. There is a "drainage" canal that comes from the city of Zihuatanejo and goes into the ocean on this beach. With a 8-10 cafes streached along this very pleasent walkway it is our very favorite place for dinner. While the beach is not suitable for swimming the many fine cafes, with stroling musicians wandering the area you could not ask for a nicer evening dining spot.
