Someone wrote a discription of Janitzio as a place for people "hoping for a glimpse of native culture". That's like describing Disneyland in the same terms for foreign visitors. Lake Patzcuaro is surrounded by little towns like Jaracuaro, Tzintzuntzan and Santa Clara del Cobre where the local culture is rich. Janitzio is a tourist trap from the time you disembark... more
