You can only drive by this icon of the city. It is a traffic circle or "glorieta" but is a beautiful fountain in what is considered the new city center. Used to be the entrance of the city, along with "Los arcos"

She used to be at the entrance/exit of the city (before Vallarta was made one way...and city expanded) and not only beautiful but I have great memories of parties there...whenever the Chivas play, win or lose, they always have a big celebration there. Chivas: local soccer team of the University of Guadalajara.

The traffic is so worth your life that if you are driving, forget trying to see it. Passengers can catch a quick view. It's just something interesting to see.

This is a traffic circle on Avenida Lopez Mateos, on one of the busiest streets on the west side of Guadalajara. They have concerts there every once in a while and it's where the soccer fans go to celebrate after a big victory. In the middle of the circle is a statue of Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom...a fitting symbol...
