Well we missed this one,got there too late, we just saw it from the central place. It looks huge from the outside. Again a site with an amazing history. I read that the Aztec once sacrificed over 20000 people over four days from the top of that pyramid! Not a pretty thought, but i will definitely visit this museum next... More

Right in the absolute heart of the city, this archeological site and museum tells the story of the brutality and cultural imperialism of the Spanish invasion of Mexico like little else. The archeological site itself is amazing showing as it does the successive layers of Aztec construction while the museum of artifacts and artworks found on the site gives a... More

These ruins are very interesting because they were found by accident. The Museum is not very big and has a nice flow. It has a pretty big collection of artifacts found on the site. The ruins are well marked and the views from the cathedral are very interesting. This site is a most when visiting the center of Mexico City More

I hadn't thought of the Templo Mayor as a place to visit but it was a nice refuge from the hot and crowded market. More

To be able to see the ruins of a great empire before your eyes and to visit the museum is nothing short of an eye opener. Bear in mind the whole temple was destroyed by Cortes, but the remaining archeological ruins are more than impressive enough. More

Great to see the actual sight where the Aztecs had their major temple. I only wish there were more signs in English. More

For a glimpse of what an Aztec temple was like, it is a very convenient visit right in the center of the city. Adjacent to it is a well-appointed museum. I would recommend an audio guide to get a better understanding of the temple and the culture. More

The antiquities in the Museo del Templo Mayor make the Metropolitan Cathedral look like a tacky, overdressed party girl. More

For most travellers the Astech Calendar/Stone of the Sun in Mexicos Museo de Antropologia, represents the biggest archeological piece in the city. That was my mistake also on my first trip to Mexico, but thanks to an article on national geographic I realised that Templo Mayor holds the biggest piece. The temple itself is worth seeing as one understands the... More
