My 17-year old daughter and I loved the performance! It is a fast flowing collection of traditional dances. The costumes were gorgeous! The live music that accompanied the performance included a 10 piece Mariachi and a four person marimba piece. The dance troupe seemed to enjoy themselves and danced with a great deal of gusto! The Palacio de Bellas Artes hosts temporary art shows, a collection by the Mexican Muralists, and served as home to the Ballet Folkorico. We visited Mexico City for the first time in March 2008 and what's Mexico City without the Ballet Folklorico? Everyone advised that we experience the Ballet and we were not disappointed! When traveling to Mexico City you will invariably be encouraged to attend the Ballet Folklorico at the Palacio de Bellas Artes. If you have not seen the show, go by all means!
