If you enjoyed the Palacio de Bellas Artes, have a look at the Palacio Postal, the Central Post Office, as the same architect, Italian Adamo Boari, designed both buildings and they are located across the street (Lazaro Carenas) from each other.

The interior is pretty wonderfully Italianate, from the period when that was the popular style, totally original and restored not too long ago. There is also a tiny "history of the mail in Mexico" museum.
Thinking that this would be the best post office branch to send a letter to an address inside Mexico, I mailed a letter from here...
