This was our first guided tour of the Mayan Ruins - Coba, Tulum and Cenote. We chose to use Mormon Encounter Tours because of the great reviews and the prompt response from Carlos via email. We spent a day with Carlos that included trips to Coba, a cenote, and Tulum and loved the experience. He knows the scriptures as well as the history of the area and is able to tie the two together. Lunch was delicious, too, and I liked that he sat at our table and ate with us! Would recommend Carlos over... More

Spent just a day with Carlos and we had an amazing time. Carlos picked us up at the ferry from our cruise ship. Drove us to Tulum and he was extremely knowledgable about the area. We went to coba with Carlos for a day and learned a TON. Carlos knows his history and makes a lot of great connections from history, scriptures, and culture. If you want an academic and history-focused tour, this is it! Carlos was also a great guy to be with - and knows the right spot for lunch! More

Carlos took great care of me and my traveling companions which included 13 others ranging in age from 7 to 65. It was so nice to sit back and relax as Carlos explained the history of what we would be seeing on our tour as we rode. No need to worry about a rental car, Carlos took care of that.... More

Carlos and Jonathan where truly awesome. We did a 2 day tour, which included ruins, diving in the cenotes, Mayan village and Jungle tour. Both had a wonderful love of the scriptures and the Mayan culture and history. We absolutely recommend Carlos and LDS Tours. We plan on going back again and visiting the other sites. More

Carlos was wonderful. We had our 2 Son's 12 yrs and 10 yrs with us. Very knowledgeable and loved his anthropology background and how he researches to connect findings in the Mexico region with scripture from the Book of Mormon. Carlos delivered a very in depth tutorial from a church perspective. Phd level knowledge of the area, history, and tie in to the people of the Book of Mormon. We enjoyed it and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for the same experience. We hope to go back again and have him show us other sites. More
