I'd say this is definitely worth checking out - not incredibly exciting, but it is and inexpensive ($10) thing to do on the island. You can climb the lighthouse tower for an incredible view of the area, check out the small (very small) ruins, and stop by the crocodile marsh. You will definitely need a car to get here -... more

Had been going to Cozumel for years and finally decided to rent a car and see the island. Although there is a fee to enter this park, there are so many nature-related things to do there, it is worth it. In the summer months, there are the sea turtle camps/nurseries. Unfortunately we were not there at the right time. Then... more

We’ve been coming to Cozumel for the past 3 years. Just got back from our 4th trip this weekend and it was a 2 week stay. We had never tried Punta Sur before because we’ve heard that it was packed by cruise shippers. But since this trip was in December (a low season), we thought we’d give it a try.... more

We rented a car at the cruise port and drove around the island. There's only 1 road, so you can't get lost! We went to Punta Sur (admission $10). It was beautiful! We found a man named William, who we hired ($10 per person) to take us on kayaks out to the reef. I saw colorful fish and a sea... more

We took an open air canopied bus to Punta Sur from the port. It was a 30 minute ride and was nice to see the sights on the way. Nico and Emilio were our guide and bus driver. We saw the southern most point of the island (hence the name "Punta Sur") and saw miles and miles of gorgeous shoreline.... more

Punta Sur Ecological Park down on the Southern tip of the Island was great. Well worth the 10$ entrance fee. Fantastic beach, wildlife, crocs, flamingo’s. Could have stayed there all day. But had to move on. Beware it’s great snorkelling but you need to be a good swimmer to do it. Took us an hour to do the circuit around... more

PUNTA SUR: was gorgeous, breathtaking, totally worth the price of admission. I’d like to offer a perspective on snorkeling that I have not read on this forum. Most people who visit Cozumel are into scuba, or at least, snorkeling. I, and several in our group, are not confident swimmers and have zero snorkel experience. Personally, I had not put my... more

Spent a couple different days here in March of 08. Clear beautiful water, some of the coral covered in sand due to hurricanes, seen eagle rays, barracuda and all kinds of smaller fish. A location where you can see 100 yds in any direction. When you enter the park you take a road to the light house where you will... more

$10 per person to get in. Went to the lighthouse, and climbed to the top. Great view. Rode the double decker bus to the beach area. The water on the west side of the island was rough, and I was expecting the same at this beach, but it was just the exact opposite. The water was so calm and clear... more

I spent and afternoon snorkling off Punta Sur from the beach February 2008..... The current was strong and the coral was not that great. It looked the similar to the Grand Caymen snorkle I did a couple years ago.....the coral had a lot of sand over it ......more then the caymen....maybe Wilma after effects? IDK... and not a lot of... more
