Arrived in Cozumel on October 7th, via Carnival Imagination. We rented a vw bug from rentadora isis, a shop in downtown san miguel. Look them up for the best rates, cars, and phenomenal service! After getting our sweet little blue bug, we drove it south of San Miguel to Playa Corona. I had researched the best beaches for off shore... more

Taxi to Playa Corona from the pier: $10 Snorkeling gear: $12 Beer: $3 Not having to cram on a boat with other tourists: priceless! This was fantastic! All the reviews are right....if you are looking for a place to snorkel on your own, this is the place. The most beautiful water I have ever seen, and great snorkeling. The staff... more

We visited Playa Corona based on the TA reviews in July 2009. The 5 of us took a taxi from Puerta Maya from our Carnival Cruise for $16 each way. Once we arrived we immediately rented our snorkel gear for $12 a person. The person at the desk took great care to get us all the sizes we needed and... more

We were there during a cruise in March 2009. We rented scooters and had our own snorkel gear visiting several beach/snorkel spots. This one was the best! We liked it so much that we stayed for several hours and then had to return at the end of the day before getting back on the ship. Very low key place, great... more

Just got back from cruise. Found this place on trip advisor. Reviews were right on. Comfortable and quiet place to snorkel and soak up some sun. Despite the winding day, the waters were calm and lots to see snorkeling. My 10 and 12 year old daughters had a great time. Food was good, staff was accommodating. Short taxi ride (about... more

We were looking for a place to chill out away from the rest of the cruise passengers. This fit the bill. No frills, but great food and beer, lovely service, Scuba/snorkel on site, adequate changing rooms, plenty of chairs and palapas, etc. etc. $10 cab ride from the pier area -- just walk a bit -- we picked up our... more

I traveled there July/08 after reading some reviews by others. As described, its a break from the crowds though I was surprised that it was just one little building. But, once there, I really found the beauty in it. They had a small covered eating area by the water with tiled floor that was very romantic. The food we ordered,... more

We were in Cozumel from 11/8-15/08 enjoying the off season. We did the usual driving around the island, seeing the sights like Punta Sur, Money Bar, etc. But we kept coming back to Playa Corona. We kept coming back for 5 days !!!. The current was slight, there was abundant sea life to see. Saw lobsters, sea urchens, trumpet fish,... more

Our family of four, 2 adults and 2 teens, had a wonderful day at Playa Corona on Nov 21, 2008. Despite rough seas on most of our cruise, we were able to spend a nice day at Playa Corona. We all enjoyed the snorkeling. They have sand bags placed to make an easy walkway into the ocean. Since the seas... more

Playa Corona....I was shocked to find it on the internet! What a great place to kick back and relax after riding our scooter in search of snorkeling! Pretty good snorkeling [did boat tour last time], great service, great nachos, great beer. This place would make a good Corona commercial. Very friendly waiter and only a handful of people, being that... more
