I originally went to Chankanaab for the Dolphin Encounter (which, by the way, was wonderful). I worried that I wouldn't have anything to do after the encounter. I was SO wrong. I decided to walk around and check out the park. I didn't even have time to see half of it. I was so mesmorized by the beauty of the... more

One day we visited the park--my 10 year old and husband "snuba'd" while my 9 year old and I snorkeled. First experience with "snuba"--be sure to negotiate price. Very cool for them--great test before scuba certification. Guide also uncovered some lobster and stingrays for us to see. Boys loved seeing the iguanas--especially the "red" iguanas which are a burnt orange... more

This is a perfect location just a $10 taxi ride from the cruise ship but a world away from the hectic shopping and the long ferry rough ferry ride to some of the other expensive Cozumel port selections. We walked through the pleasant botanical gardens before finding our chairs under the thatched roof to shade from the sun. Although there... more

We went to Chankanaab park in 2004 just before Hurricane Ivan. We did the dolphin swim and snorkel. What a thrill. We did not realize the park had so much to offer and had booked another beach break after our dolphin swim, don't make this mistake. This park is worth spending the whole day. We are planning a other cruise... more

We visited Cozumel as part of our first cruise and thank our son for picking Chankanaab as the place to spend the day. It was a $12 taxi ride from the terminal. Arriving at the park a little after 10 A.M., we were just about the only people there. Basic admission was $14 a person. Before heading to the beach,... more

Such a fantastic place to go if you enjoy chillin at the beach, snorkelling, dolphins, turtles, the odd Mojito, clean toilets and friendly people. Look out for, 'Mario' - the friendly, helpful and very funny tour guide. he'll also rent you fins and masks etc. cant wait to go back. Remember to take an underwater camera - essential !! I have been to Chankanaab a couple times now and plan to go back Feb.2008 It's a quick taxi ride from the port to the park entrance. Try and get there when it opens so you have your choice of beach chairs etc. Keep in mind this is a "park" not a resort. It is up to you to make... more

The park is nice and when we were there from a cruise ship in Jan it was not busy at all. We went snorkeling while there, great for kids or adults that don't snorkel often. It was the 1st time for several in our group and they were very glad to start off there where it was clam and while... more
