We were staying on the south end, but decided to check this out for the day. Just rent a chair and enjoy the beach! I'm blanking on the restaurant we chose- right next to ChiChis. $22 US for 2 chairs and they took it off your food/drink bill. We just enjoyed the cocktails, sunshine, and water. Definitely worth doing, just... More

Beautiful sand and water. Bars and restaurants on the beach. Can't walk a great distance along the shoreline due to boats and walkways as you get nearer to the ferry area. Too bad you must rent a chair, but the locals need to make a living. It's really a beautiful beach, a must-see while on the Isla. More

A trip to Isla would not be complete without visiting Playa Norte. The blue waters are very shallow allowing you to wade very far out. There are many different beach clubs if you like to rent a bed or lounge chair and umbrella. There are also many spots where you can lay down your towel and enjoy it for free... More

By far the best beach on the island. Slight shame however that since 2002 when I last visited, the beach has been built-up significantly More

Situated on the northwest corner of Isla Mujeres, Play del Norte with its silky white sand beaches, crystal clear and shallow water, and spectacular sunsets is by far one the better beaches we’ve encountered….dotted with restaurants and hotels the traveler will not want to leave. One item to note, many of the charter boats do anchor off for an hour... More

This beach has exactly what you are looking for in a Mexican beach holiday. There were some vendors walking up and down the beach, but much fewer than on other beaches I have been to in Mexico and I am guessing only a quarter of what you would find in Cancun. More

We went here after a few days on a pristine quiet beach in Cancun. It just didn't compare. It was crowded, a little dirty and full of people from the cruise ships who were obnoxious. More

We have been to many Caribbean islands. Prior to coming to Playa Norte, our favorite beach was Acra Beach in Barbados. Playa Norte has become our favorite for several reasons. The sand is like powder. You can walk out about 300 to 400 feet before the water comes up to your neck. The surf is calm, so we can just... More
