My husband and I found and booked a Copper Canyon tour online through RailsNW. Customer service with RailsNW was topnotch!! Every detail was taken care of....we had someone waiting for us at every bus and train station....the hotel choices were superb... we were treated like royalty. We thoroughly enjoyed viewing the lush, fertile countryside on the bus ride from Mazatlan... More

There are some negative reviews of Canyon Travel from previous owners. Discard them and focus on the people now running the business. On the business side you have Michael, Emma and Carly. I was fortunate enough to meet the girls as they happened to intersect with my mum and I on part of the trip. They are both lovely and... More

Our small group of four left Calgary and flew to Hermosillo which is just a short flight from Tuscon away. From there our Host Captain Claude Gourlin and Lynn Prince greeted us at the airport . The weather was beautiful , warm and blue sky . From Hermosillo the drive to the beautiful resort town of San Carlos took about... More

Canyon Travel has some poor reviews due to previous owners. We took a chance and signed up for the Western Canyon tour and had a wonderful time. It was a very individualized trip with native guides giving us the history and culture of the area as well as the names of the flora and fauna. The scenery is spetacular and... More

Our trip started at El Fuerte where we stayed at the Rio Vista Lodge. It is right by the river and we enjoyed a bird watching trip down the river. The food at the Rio Vista Lodge was excellent. Our journey continued on the train up to the canyon. We had great views of the mountains and admired tthe construction... More

Absolutely stunning scenery, the likes of which I have not seen before. The guides supplied by the Three Amigos were brilliant and the variety of hotels we stayed in we're really friendly, comfortable with excellent proprietors and staff. We did an 8 day tour which included a stay down into Batoplias (what a drive!) staying in a delightful hotel the... More

Ignore the travel warnings to Mexico. They might apply to certain border areas, but they certainly didn't apply to my recent trip into central Mexico. While I was cautious, I never felt safer on this trip. That being said, on any trip -- even in the U.S. -- don't take chances. Dress conservatively -- no flashy clothes, watches or jewelry,... More

After reading good reviews for the Canyon Travel trips, we booked an 8 day tour with them. Imagine our shock to get there and discover that no reservations had been made and none of our money had been forwarded to the service providers! We were told that this formerly great company has been coming unravelled for about a year. Over... More

The new management of Canyon Travel would like to apologize for your bad experience with the former owner. The reformed company, Copper Canyon Travel, is now operating most of the same tours, with the same wonderful lodges and excellent Mexican staff which were formerly employed by Canyon Travel/Emilio Kifuri. The new company is committed to correcting the problems which travelers... More

Much to my surprise, we discovered beautiful, magnificent canyons that went on and on. The trip was well planned. We were met at each destination by courteous and friendly people. Our guides were always there for us, helpful and enjoyable to be with. To be with the indigenous Indians will be a favorite experience long remembered. More

We returned home on 4/1/10 after completing Canyon Travel's Western Canyon Explorer adventure. Canyon Travel offered a small group ( just the two of us) experience, smaller local lodges, and hiking opportunities, so we decided this was the Copper Canyon trip for us. We soon discovered after arriving in Los Mochis that not all transportation expenses were included, as advertised.... More
