We took the lift into the mine from the upper entrance (near the cable car). Even though we could hardly understand anything the guide said and certainly didn't follow all the spanish jokes, you only had to look at the size of the underground workings to make the trip worthwhile. When we got to the end of the tour and... more

Unfortunately I can´t speak Spanish, and found after the first 5 minutes of looking at and appreciating the enormity of the mine, that the rest of the tour was wasted on me. If you can understand Spanish you will probably enjoy it, otherwise I found it a very long, cold hour not being able to understand any of the stories. more

You can't go to Zacatecas, Mexico without visiting the Mine of Eden. You take a train down about 2,000 feet and tour an ancient mine that produces silver, gold, and many other minerals. The tour is about an hour and the guides are very informative. I highly recommend going down. Also, if your there on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday,... more

My family and I just visited "Mina El Eden" and we all found it to be enjoyable. We were impressed of how much there was to see. My only complaint was that our tour guide was kind of soft spoken so it was a little difficult to hear towards the back of the crowd. This is definitely one of the... more

My first visit was in 1995 (18 yrs old), to the mine, my fathers home state. As I've been to Zac. many times before, I first took the chance when I traveled myself to Mexico. I was very interested to see the bigger things that Mexico has to offer and learn. It was quite impressing to see such beauty in... more

Many things in Zacacatecas caught my attention (Aqueduct, bullfighting ring turned 5 star hotel, highrise cablebox transport,etc.).But of historical significance, the "Eden Mine" is top dog.The train ride to the center of the mountain(decent speed) is a great start.A feeling of leaving the world that we know behind and transporting yourself to a time when abusive backbreaking work is all men from mining... more

The poor sunburned Germans obviously didn't read Spanish or a tour book or they would have know the tour of the mine is one way. You enter from the side from the teleferico (cable car) and exit on the other side of the hill via a mine train. Or, you enter via the mine train and exit at the teleferico.... more

I had a very bad experience in the „Eden“ Mine in Zacatecas. When we left the mine we found out that the guide had sent us to another entrance than the one we started our tour. So we stood there with three small children not knowing where we are and how to get back to our car. The personal refused... more
