This museum is not just good - its fantastic. I have been to many museums around the world, and this is a top one, for a regional area. Allow most of a day. Firstly, come late morning, enjoy the absolutely fantastic grounds. Bring a good camera - you will be snapping away at the beautiful angles on the part-ruins. Then...

The vast range of masks in this museum throw a fascinating light on Mexican culture. The sheer number can be intimidating. Take the time to examine individual masks in detail. Rewards the effort.

One of the most interesting museums that we have been to. A bonus is that it is in a former convent with lovely gardens. Just about 5 blocks from the central plaza. It features masks, mostly from Mexico. The signage is only in Spanish, but you can still enjoy it without being able to read the explanations. No tour guides,...

The building is one of the most gorgeous of all colonial Mexico. The museum contains hundreds of masks along with explanations of the role of masks in pre-hispanic and colonial Mexico. Everything is in Spanish -- probably English guides are available if arranged. I spent almost three hours there. Great place for photos and to learn a lot about Mexico.

It is a great restoration of a decaying historic convent into a place for visitors to stroll through gardens and also discover the art. Art of Rafael Coronel and the vast collection masks from vast Indian and States Of Mexico and the vintage collection of puppets are like a window into the culture and spirit of Mexico. I highly recommend...

We were drawn to this museum by the promise of a great collection of masks. We were not disappointed. The collection is vivid and varied, with explanations (in Spanish) of the different types of masks. We particularly liked the room dedicated to the devil. The collection is complimented by a much smaller collection of pottery and puppets, and some tasteful...

A museum devoted mainly to masks may not sound very exciting, but this is a superb collection beautifully displayed. Up there among the most enjoyable museums in the entire country. Children will love it, although some of the masks are quite scary. Most of the masks are from Mexico, where the tradition thrives still, but there are also examples from...

This museum was much more than expected. The collection of masks from Mexico is interesting for some insight into the Mexican culture. There's also a collection of pottery from regions of Mexico that aren't usually represented. Very worthwhile visit.
