Interesting birdlife, although we went in the middle of the day - I think there would have been more during sunrise or sunset time. Need to take a boat trip to get around - Don't bother venturing there by yourself. More

You'll feel like if you are part of the Avatar movie swimming on blue colored water as you move. Ecotours have very friendly staff. More

I just rode a scooter out there and didn't paddle around. It would be more interesting if you got out on the water. More

This is a beautiful lagoon and nature reserve. Along its shores you'll see all sorts of wildlife. It's also possible to rent kayaks or a boat with a guide at any of the many puestos along the shore. Try to go early in the morning or late afternoon as the sun is relentless on the water and there is little... More

4 of us took Mike Malone's trip on the lagoon by motorboat. It was a fun 4 hr trip starting from P.E. by van. Not being avid birders we did enjoy the informative guided tour Mike gave us about the birds, and people on the lagoon. We did not know there were so many species of birds . We still... More

This is a great place to spend a few hours on the river, many exotic birds here so bring your camera and your binoculars. Don't forget to have a great lunch at the restaurant located just off the river's edge. The food is prepared fresh and it is a peaceful place to spend a few hours. More

We took the Hidden Voyages Ecotour with Mike (peleewings@hotmail.com - but you can also find him through the coffeeshop at Hotel Casa Dan in the winter) earlier today. We usually do at least one ecotour on a trip with good natural resources, but they are typically a little more active than a quiet birdwatching lagoon tour in a skiff and... More

My husband and I weren't avid bird-watchers before this excursion, but we might be now thanks to this beautiful place. The completely empty and pristine beach at the far end of the Laguna made it official as one of the best things we did during our trip to the Oaxaca coast. More
