Interesting birdlife, although we went in the middle of the day - I think there would have been more during sunrise or sunset time. Need to take a boat trip to get around - Don't bother venturing there by yourself.

This is a great place to spend a few hours on the river, many exotic birds here so bring your camera and your binoculars. Don't forget to have a great lunch at the restaurant located just off the river's edge. The food is prepared fresh and it is a peaceful place to spend a few hours.

My husband and I weren't avid bird-watchers before this excursion, but we might be now thanks to this beautiful place. The completely empty and pristine beach at the far end of the Laguna made it official as one of the best things we did during our trip to the Oaxaca coast.
