The Plain of Six Glaciers hike departs from the Chateau Lake Louise, and follows the lake shore for 2km before ascending 368 meters (~1200 feet) to the Teahouse. Another 1.4 km past the teahouse is the Plain of Six Glaciers viewpoint itself. Along the way, the trail follows the glacial stream that feeds Lake Louise, and passes junctions for several... more

My husband and I returned to this area for our 25th anniversary. Yes, it is just as beautiful as on our honeymoon. True, the glacier has shrunk considerably, but do take this hike, while there are still glaciers. It was hot the day we hiked, about mid 80s, so do carry plenty of water and pace yourself. Get to the... more

I'm certainly not the fittest of people, so this hike is a little tiring in places, pace yourself, take it easy, and don't give up! The Hike itself is one of our favorites, so many scenery changes that take the breath away! Adivce - if in Summer, and especially on a weekend, get to the Lake Louise Parking lot early,... more

We didn't plan on hiking all the way to the Teahouse, but it was such a great hike we couldn't stop. Seeing Lake Louise from the other side, looking down towards the Hotel was a nice different perspective. The hike isn't super easy, but we did see kids along the trail so if you take it slower it's doable.. and... more

The food and drink were not superior to any neighborhood Starbucks, but after a breath-taking hike overlooking the gorgeous Lake Louise and Canadian Rockies it was marvelous. The staff is friendly, quirky college students from Canada. The hike to the teahouse is not difficult but it is long. The hike is mountain views and great trail. For those not in... more

Don't go to Lake Louise and miss the hike to the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse. Follow the path all the way to the other end of the lake from the Chateau and take the trail up above the treeline to the Teahouse. This trail may be a mile longer than the one to the Lake Agnes Teahouse, but it... more
