Thanks to Trip Advisor, we read about Icewalks.com. We did the "Ice Cubed" hike with our guide Brent and had a great time. Brent provided us with warm gloves & provided my son with comfortable hiking boots & a jacket. He also provided a hat for me. You will need to dress warm. Went on a 3-hr tour with Peter Lemieux, the lead guide, of Ice Walk. Peter was really fun to talk with and did a great job of making the trek up the glacier fun. Truly worth the fee charged. His dinner recommendations (Thai Pagoda in Canmore) were also very good. more
Even though we are Canadians and live a few hours drive from the ice walk it was simply excellent. Peter was funny and had a bundle of knowledge to share about the glacier and surrounding area. This was the best part of our trip to Canadian Rockies( Sep 2007). Its a 3 hr guided climb on the Athabasca Glacier. The experience was an eye opener as we understood the world of glaciers and global warming.
