Cave and Basin National Historic Site is the proper title, and that is what it is. If you are interested in the place that started the National Parks system in Canada this is it. This place is good if ya wanna read the history about Banff and really how it got started. I guess it's kinda a must see thing. The wonderful thing about the Cave and Basin is the story that goes with it. First go into the lobby and read the placards and look at the photos. This site is only worth visiting if you plan on taking advantage of a bath in the hotsprings. When we visited the Hot Springs there was no one in the bathing pools, so it may be a good choice if you want to avoid the crowds.
