We went on the 3 day lodge trip, but it was mostly riding in the trees. I wished we went on the 5 or 6 day trip where they go up higher on the mountains. Our guide Chris was great, we started off in the rain and he stopped at lunch and made a campfire, cowboy coffee and hot chocolate!... more

Horseback Riding – Getting Back in the Saddle. “It’s like riding a bicycle; I will be galloping away from you before you know it!” Ah false confidence, the making of a man and eventually his downfall. As my girlfriend and I cruised up to the Sundance Canyon trail in Banff, I bragged about my former child career as a show... more

This summer we took part in our second trip with Holiday on horseback and loved every minute of it! We took part in the 6 day Lodge to Lodge trip during the middle of July. The weather was great! Bugs do exist, however, a little bug spray and you dont notice them anymore. Our guides were just as friendly and... more

We did the 6 day lodge trip in early September. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime! I would highly recommend the trip to experienced riders. We however, were inexperienced and the trip was a mix of extreme fun and absolute terror! Day 5 of the trip was a ride up Fatigue Pass which was more like equestrian rock... more

I went with Holiday on Horseback at Warner Stables for the One Hour Spray River Ride. What a beautiful place to go horseback riding! Along the bow river, through tall trees and best of all, through spray river!!! Going through Spray River was the best part, I felt like a real cowgirl! One hour is more than enough. After about... more

1. Wrangle did not even welcome us but just told us the rules - we know we need to know the rules but it would have nice if they'd acknowledged that they were glad we chose them. Just set an unfriendly tone. 2. Wranglers on the ride were barely better - seemed much more interested in getting us through the... more

My family and I did the all day Explorer ride. It was a little rough on our backsides towards the end as we are not experienced riders. However, the trail through the valley between Mt. Rundle and Sulphur Mountain was awesome. The horses are trail trained yet they have personality and aren’t drones. The lunch stop was nice and the... more

In early February 2007, my husband and I took Holiday on Horseback's "romance ride" for two people. This is a 45-minute ride in a two-seat open sleigh. I asked many questions before I booked, which Warner staff promptly answered via phone and e-mail. When I had to re-schedule the sleigh ride, the change was handled smoothly. Two sleigh rides are... more

I decided to take a weekend vacation with Holidays on Horseback after seeing the Sundance Lodge featured in a Public Television show on Canadian Lodges. I planned on it being an adventure, since I had no experience riding horses. The staff, from the person at the office who took my initial phone call, and answered my many questions, to the... more

Hello: Well our much awaited carriage ride with my 81 year old Mom was a huge disappointment. I had booked a carriage ride for two (that being my Mom and myself)through Discover Tours of Banff. We arrived 15 minutes earlier than we were supposed to at the Holidays on Horseback reservation desk on Banff Avenue as we were instructed in... more
